
French onions

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Cuisine Soleil All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 cup Cuisine Soleil yellow pea flour
- 1/8 cup corn flour
- 5ml salt
- 5ml baking powder
- 15ml sugar
- 2.5ml chili powder
- 2.5ml onion powder
- 10ml paprika powder
- 1 egg
- 15ml oil
- 1 cup 7up
- 1 onion
- Oil for frying
Preparation
- 1. Mix all the dry ingredients together. Set aside.
- 2. Mix together all the liquid ingredients.
- 3. Mix together the dry and liquid ingredients.
- 4. Cut the onion into rings and dry each of the rings well with a cloth or paper towel. This will allow the mixture to adhere better to the onion.
- 5. Dip a slice into the mixture. Do not put too much paste on the onion as it will swell quickly.
- 6. Place the washer in the deep fryer. To confirm that the oil is hot enough, it should simmer when the onion ring is placed on it.
- 7. Remove the washer when it is the same texture as in the photo.
- 8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 for each onion ring.
