What is brown rice?
Also called cargo rice, brown rice is a husked rice. It still has its bran and sprout. Harder to chew than white rice, its nutritional properties are higher.

More nutritious than white rice, it has a high dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals content and is easily assimilable by our body.

Origin
Cultivated in China for 10.000 years, rice had been harvested in its wild state for 5 extra millenniums. Today, rice is the third most cultivated grain after corn and wheat: the annual world production amounts 770 million of metric tons. Most of it is grown in Asia and is destined to the domestic market.
